Oral Contraceptive Pill Resupply

The Victorian Government’s Chemist Care Now Program, makes it possible for some patients to receive medications or treatments at a local pharmacy, without having to get a prescription first. All UFS pharmacies are participating in this program. The following medication is available at UFS pharmacies:

Hormonal contraception resupply where you have a previous prescription including some contraceptive pills

Oral contraception is very effective in preventing pregnancy, when used correctly. It can also be used to regulate periods, reduce period pain or improve acne.

A consultation to resupply oral contraceptive pills will involve your pharmacist meeting with you in a private consulting room to explain the service and ask for your consent to be part of the Chemist Care Now program. They will ask questions about the care you need to assess if they can treat you, or if they need to refer to your doctor.

If you are aged 16-50 years and currently take an oral contraceptive pill, speak to a UFS pharmacist to see if you may be eligible for a resupply or to discuss alternative options.

Most UFS pharmacies can undertake an oral contraceptive resupply consultation for you. Please make an appointment by visiting the Pharmacy Bookings page.
