UFS Eye Care advertising update

If you’ve been paying close attention around town this week, you may have spotted Ballarat buses advertising the opening of our new UFS Eye Care location at 717 Sturt Street. These ads went up a little early—about a month early, in fact—due to an administrative error by the transport advertising agency. Oops!

To clarify, Sturt Street UFS Eye Care is scheduled to open on 14 July.

Our special offer of $100 off any complete pair of glasses or sunglasses* will be available from 7 July at our existing UFS Eye Care practice - Lucas UFS Eye Care and at our new Sturt Street practice from 14 July.

We apologise for any confusion and appreciate your understanding. We look forward to seeing you at Sturt Street UFS Eye Care once it opens on 14 July.

*$100 off when you spend $350 or more on a complete pair of prescription glasses or sunglasses. Offer ends 30 September 2025.

Bulk-billing at UFS Eye Care

At UFS, we’re committed to making quality healthcare accessible to all. Your eye health is vital to your quality of life, so we want to ensure you’re getting the care you need.

UFS Eye Care offers bulk-billing for eye tests according to Medicare’s eligibility guidelines:

- If you are under 65, you are eligible for a bulk-billed eye test every three years

- If you are 65 and over, you are eligible for a bulk-billed eye test every year.

For testing or treatment outside of these specific eligibility guidelines, UFS Eye Care will bulk-bill whenever appropriate. In some instances, your optometrist may need to charge an out-of-pocket fee for your consultation or extra testing. We will explain any charges and the importance of extra tests or treatment beforehand, during your assessment.
