Women's Healthcare Services

New healthcare services available for women
The Victorian Government's Community Pharmacist Program, now known as Chemist Care Now, makes it possible for women and gender diverse people to receive medications or treatments at a local pharmacy, without having to get a prescription first. All UFS pharmacies are participating in this program. The following treatments are available at UFS pharmacies:
> Treatment for uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) in 18-65yo women and gender diverse people
> Resupply of oral contraceptive pills in 16-50yo women *
- All consultations with the pharmacist take place in a private consulting room
- Consultations are free of charge (with or without a Medicare card)
- Medication dispensed is at regular cost
*Patient must have previously been prescribed the same kind of contraceptive pill and will need to either bring in their old prescription, bring in some of the medication in its box, or alternatively, the pharmacy may have a record of this information if it is the patient's regular pharmacy.
