New UFS Pharmacy at Grampians Health
UFS is delighted to share that our newest pharmacy is now open in the foyer of Ballarat Base Hospital.
This is a special milestone for both UFS and Ballarat, as it's the region's first community pharmacy located within a hospital setting. This partnership with Grampians Health represents a unique opportunity for UFS and Grampians Health to improve community health.
Continuity of care is essential for our members, many of whom utilise the services of Grampians Health and this pharmacy will help bridge hospital and home care by improving access to essential and discharge medications, supporting a smoother transition from hospital to home, particularly for regional members who rely on these services.
Conveniently located for patients, families and Grampians Health staff, the pharmacy will provide prescription medications, over-the-counter health solutions and everyday essentials to support inpatients during their hospital stay, while also supporting hospital operations and meeting day-to-day needs more efficiently on site.
The service will also provide clinical pharmacy support, counselling, trusted advice and education, strengthening medication safety, improving the patient experience and supporting our commitment to delivering high-quality care and better health outcomes for the community.
The staff from Doveton Street South UFS Pharmacy have relocated to this new pharmacy and are delighted to welcome members into this new modern, comfortable and accessible space.
The new pharmacy is located in a very prominent position on the ground floor of the Ballarat Base Hospital and will be known as Grampians Health UFS Pharmacy.
