Community Pharmacist Pilot


The Victorian Government's Community Pharmacist Pilot makes it possible for some patients to receive medications or treatments at a local pharmacy, without having to get a prescription first. All UFS pharmacies are participating in this program. The following treatments are available at UFS pharmacies:


Treatment for shingles
If you have one of the following symptoms, you may have shingles:
• painful blistering rash
• a tingling, burning sensation on the skin.
If you are aged 18 years and older, you may be eligible for treatment.

Treatment for urinary tract infections
If you have any of the following symptoms, you may have a urinary tract infection:
• stinging or burning when passing urine
• feeling the need to pass urine frequently or bladder still feels full after passing urine.
If you are female and aged between 16-65 years you may be able to get treatment. 

Treatment for a flare up of mild plaque psoriasis
If you are aged 18 years and older, and currently have a flare-up of mild plaque psoriasis, speak to a UFS pharmacist to check if you can get a resupply of your cream or ointment.

Resupply of an oral contraceptive pill
If you are aged 16-50 years and currently take an oral contraceptive pill, speak to a UFS pharmacist to check if you can get a resupply.
